New kid

Hi there!!
I'm new in the blog-a-sphere and wanted to say hello! Although I'm not sure what I will write here or how often, I want to send love and light to all of you!!! 

 I spend most of my time playing with yarn and crochet hooks and watching movies. It's a rough gig, but somehow I manage to persevere. Haha ;)

 My newest addition is my spirit animal Seymour the Snail here. 

I will have to try to remember that I made this blog and I'll stop back again soon to share more from my nest!!! xo

The art challenge theme for the month of May over at Art Elements was "Tide Pools". It’s REVEAL TIME!!!

I decided to take this theme challenge rather literally. I work better in specifics rather than abstract but I did stretch my comfort zone by using free-form crochet as much as possible to replicate creatures and shapes you might find in a tide pool.  The idea of working free-form with NO patterns or stitch counts makes me break out in hives and was a challenge all of its own to my control freak, precision mind. However, I think the end results are very authentic and creative in a seriously one of a kind way!!

I started out by choosing concept photos to use for basic shape ideas and for selecting my color palette.

June "Sunflowers" Blog Hop

It is REVEAL TIME again and boy did that month go by FAST!! 😲 This month’s themed art challenge over at Art Elements was "Sunflowers" hosted by Susan Kennedy. I always associate sunflowers with gorgeous photos and paintings of the Tuscan countryside for some reason, so my design for this theme was inspired by images of Tuscan sunflower fields against a blue sky. These types of photos contributed to the colors, composition and the feel of my new piece this month.

August "Swirl" Blog Hop

Welcome to August's REVEAL DAY Blog hop!!!
My sincerest apologies for posting late, I was thinking that the reveal wasn't until August 31st for some reason. Who knows the why??? 😁😂😂 Better late than never, eh?? On with the show... This month's Art Elements theme challenge was "SWIRL" hosted by Marsha (Owner of Marsha Neal Studio). My initial inspirations for this SWIRL theme were definitely things like nautilus, snail shells, fiddle ferns and lizards (specifically chameleons)...spirals found in nature.   August was going to be a challenge for me regardless of the theme selected. This is when my orders start ramping up for Halloween and the Holidays, as well as preparing for vendor shows and charitable donations occurring in October and November.
